Shape optimization of mechanisms’ covers

Abstract

This paper presents the method for cover’s shape optimization whose objective is to decrease the final mass of the cover, while maintaining its natural frequencies in the initial or given range, out of nominal frequencies’ range of the functioning mechanism. The presented optimization strategy is software-independent. It permits to improve the stability of cover‘s shape generation process and to diminish the convergence time during the optimization process.
