Abstract

Experimental study of plastic packages made ofpolystyrene (PS), used for packing grainy and liquid productsof different consistency, is presented. The packagingsamples were produced in Lithuania and Ukraine. Whenanalyzing the external shape variety, eight popular containertypes were distinguished, differing in their top andbottom part configuration. The study of packaging resistanceto compression along its vertical axis has been performed.Graphic dependences of compression loads anddeformations of the packages have been obtained and themaximum values of compression loads have been determined.Certain zones of the tested package compressionand corresponding deformation dependences have beendefined in which the parameter change close to linear canbe observed.
