Abstract

This paper presents the analysis of the factors which influence the operation, durability and reliability of  heat exchangers. Major attention was devoted to the corrosion influence while selecting the materials for manufacturing heat transfer plates and tubes of heat exchangers. The paper presents the examples of the mostly occurring defects in the heat exchangers due to corrosion and other negative factors. Analysis of the chemical composition, mechanical and thermal properties of plates for heat exchangers was done. Coating influence as performance parameters and durability of connecting tubes of heat exchangers were developed. Negative role of iron impurities in the water for corrosion of copper brazed junctures in HE was determined.  An experimental investigation of stress-strain for different steels of connecting tubes, microhardness tests of cross-section of coated tube, relationship between tensile strength and hardness of material were also estimated.
