Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). Neither the paper nor separate parts are plagiarism.
  • Author name and affiliation placed through the submission process under Step 3 (Enter Metadata). In the case of multiple authorship of the submitted paper, the author name and affiliation of each author specified under the same Step 3 by clicking 'Add Contributor'.
  • The official institution e-mail(s) of the author(s) is/are provided through the submission process under Step 3 (Enter Metadata). Please note that yahoo, hotmail, gmail or any other free e-mail addresses are not acceptable. If you use another person E-mail address or yahoo, hotmail, gmail the submission will be rejected without further notice (the same is valid for co-authors e-mails).
  • Mechanika=Mechanics is an open-access journal with publishing fees of 50 EUR/journal page for an accepted paper. I confirm that I will pay the open access fee if my manuscript is accepted for publication.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format. Manuscript has been formated according to the requirements presented on Template_Mechanika_web.docx.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which are found in About the Journal.
  • The list of three potential international reviewers is provided as supplementary file indicating first names, family names, e-mail addresses, affiliations, keywords presenting field of interests.

Author Guidelines

Paper template (Word)

In order to achieve rapid publication, the texts will be printed directly from the author's typescripts. The authors are kindly requested to observe the following instructions in manuscripts preparation.
Some flexibility of presentation will be allowed but authors are urged to arrange the subject matter clearly under such headings as Introduction, main text (separation of analytical and experimental parts is desirable), Conclusions, References and Summary. Summary should cover the essence of the article. Summary should not exceed 50 - 200 words. In addition, the author is requested to submit Keywords of the paper (5 - 10 words).

The length of a paper text is not limited. The recommended length is 6-10 pages. Not less than 75-80% the last page should be filled.

The files should be saved in the native format of the word processing program used (preferably Microsoft Word).

Units SI units must be used in the text, tables, and graphs.

Illustrations Figures, tables and formulas can be arranged to fit into one (174 mm) or two (84 mm) columns. Please prepare graphs by computer (editor Microsoft Word or compatible). One line spacing should separate the figures and tables from the text.

Formulae All mathematical expressions should be computer typed (MathType for Windows (6.*)). Numbers that identify mathematical expressions are to be enclosed in parentheses. Equations that might extend beyond the width of one column (84 mm) must be fitted into full width of the paper (174 mm).

Software specifications

Manuscript should be typed with single spacing using Microsoft Word editor. Times New Roman font must be used. The text and summary is typed in two columns on A4 format sheets; spacing between the columns - 6 mm. The following margins should be ensured:

  • top - 20 mm,
  • bottom - 17 mm,
  • left - 18 mm,
  • right - 18 mm.

The title of an article should be printed in 16 pt (bold), author's name - 12 pt (Bold), title of the institution - 10 pt (Italic), headings of the chapters - 10 pt (Bold), the main paper's text and summary -10 pt, indexes - 6 pt, text of the tables - 9 pt, formulae in the text - 10 pt, indexes - 6 pt, subindexes - 5 pt (all symbols - Italic, vectors - Bold-Italic, numbers - Regular). For symbols from the figures and graphs mentioned in the text Italic characters are used.

We recommend using the template for more convenient formatting of the manuscript.

References References should be cited in the text by giving the reference number in square brackets. References should be listed in order of their citing at the end of the paper.

Further details he following data (METADATA) about the authors should be presented: name, family name, affiliation, position, mailing address, E-mail.

Potential reviewers, Please provide 3 names of potential reviewers indicating: First Name, Family Name, e-mail address, Affiliation, keywords presenting field of interests.
