Fracture investigation of layered composite structural elements

Abstract

Fracture of layered composite structural elements is analysed in this article. Some designs of layered com-posite structural elements and simplified analytical model composed for the analysis of their fracture process are pre-sented. This relatively simple model can be used develop-ing the methodologies for design and fracture analysis of layered structural elements. Results, obtained applying analytical model, were verified experimentally and employing the method of finite elements. Experimental and modelled results correspond to analytically calculated results what validates correctness of the analytical model.
