Ferrocene derivatives in boundary lubrication
Abstract
Model friction and thermal investigations have been carried out to study the most reactive of the ferrocene derivatives tested so far - 1,1' diethyl-2-thia ferroceno-phane. The analysis of the results obtained from model friction investigations points to the reactive character of both sulphur and ferrocene iron in reactions with the sur-faces of the samples tested. The presence of ferrocene de-rivative reaction products on the surface of the metal sam-ples studied has been confirmed by means of instrumental analytical methods.
