Experimental study of paperboard package resistance to compression

Abstract

Experimental tests have been carried out and re-sistance to deformation during compression has been de-termined for different grammage paperboard boxes. For testing, specimens of rectangular paperboard boxes, whose side wall paperboard direction was either parallel or per-pendicular to the vertical axis of the package ware used. The maximum compression load that the package can carry with minimum deformation was determined. The effect of paperboard direction on package resistance to compression was analyzed. The zones of deformation-compression load dependences of the studied packages, in which the parameter changes are either of close to linear or of nonlinear character were, singled out.
