Abstract
Macro- and micrononhomogeneous strain of the surface layer of a carbon steel subjected to electrome-chanical hardening has been studied. The relation between the relative position of hardened and unhardened surface structural elements and the distribution of local strain bursts in these characteristic structural zones is found and analyzed.
