Utilization of waste materials for welding and surfacing

Abstract
The properties of surfacing obtained by meltingpowder mixtures in electric arc between Cв 08 wire andCт 3 steel plate are investigated. Crushed glass, SiC andB4C powder from grinding wheels waste, P6M5 steel chipsand T15K6 carbide powder was utilized for the mixtures.Changing the amount waste materials and other elementspowder in the mixtures, layers of various hardness andmicrostructure were obtained. Surfacings both with carbidesinclusion resistant to abrasive wear or with graphiteinclusions resistant to adhesive wear can be obtained.
