Abstract

This paper presents an investigation on the low cycle fatigue behaviour of welded joints of Aluminium Alloy AW 1050 produced by tungsten inert gas welding and friction stir welding were investigated and compared with not welded specimens. The dependences of hysteresis loop width and accumulated plastic strains on the cycle number are presented and fatigue curves are obtained. The results of the low cycle fatigue experiments were used, for comparison and deciding the best sustaining technique of welding.
