Abstract

The paper presents an application of the meshless smoothed particle hydrodynamic (SPH) method in model-ing of the explosion phenomenon. As the example the influence of blast wave on the composite structure is pre-sented. The considered composite structure consists of the aluminium alloy honeycomb core covered by face sheets made of metal matrix composite reinforced with ceramic particles. The material properties of this complex structure are obtained on the base of the multi-scale material mode-ling technique. The elasto-viscoplastic constitutive mate-rial model including strain rate effects is taken into consid-eration in the presented numerical simulation.
